Los Angeles Rams Defensive Tackle Marries High School Sweetheart
Los Angeles Rams defensive tackle Ty Hamilton recently returned to his home state to marry his high school sweetheart, Amari Thomas, in a ceremony first reported by PEOPLE. The couple, both 23, held their "enchanted garden" themed wedding on Sunday, March 22, at Enchanted Acres in Dennison, Ohio.
As Ohio natives and alumni of Ohio State University, the couple told PEOPLE that celebrating in a place that felt like home was a priority. Thomas shared with the magazine that her vision for the day was a "romantic, timeless and elegant celebration" that fully immersed their 180 guests in a fairytale atmosphere.
The aesthetic featured a soft color palette of blush pink and green, accented by candlelight and an abundance of calla lilies. According to PEOPLE, the couple walked down the aisle to the sounds of a harp and violin duo before exchanging both traditional and handwritten vows.
Thomas’s attire included a custom Eve of Milady ball gown with a lace-covered corset bodice and floral appliqués. She later changed into a white mini dress with a rose-detailed skirt for the reception. The dessert menu included a four-tiered cake with vintage-style piping and a selection of Ohio State Buckeye treats, a nod to their alma mater.
Hamilton and Thomas first met nearly a decade ago during their senior and junior years of high school. Following an engagement at an Ohio waterfall in October 2024, the two formalized their commitment in a ceremony they described as being deeply rooted in their faith.
Hamilton, who was a fifth-round pick for the Rams in 2025 after a standout career at Ohio State, spoke to PEOPLE about the significance of the union, stating that it represents the next step in securing their future together for a lifetime.
