Audi Crooks Becomes Fastest Player in Big 12 History to Reach 2,000 Career Points

With a 33-point performance against Texas Tech, Crooks joined elite company as the fourth Cyclone to reach the scoring milestone.

Audi Crooks continues to rewrite the record books, cementing her status as one of the most dominant players in collegiate basketball. During a commanding 84-70 road victory over No. 21 Texas Tech on Wednesday night, the Iowa State junior surpassed the 2,000-point career milestone in record-breaking fashion.

By reaching the mark in just 89 games, Crooks became the fastest player in Big 12 history to hit 2,000 points. The Algona, Iowa, native is only the fourth player in the history of the Iowa State program to join the elite 2,000-point club, joining the ranks of Angie Welle, Bridget Carleton, and the program’s all-time scoring leader, Ashley Joens.

The milestone bucket came during a scoring masterclass in the first half. Crooks entered the game with 1,970 points and wasted no time, erupting for 14 first-quarter points. Her 2,000th point arrived on her eighth made basket of the night, part of a 20-point first-half blitz that silenced the Lubbock crowd and propelled the Cyclones to an early lead.

Crooks finished the contest with a massive double-double, racking up 33 points and 12 rebounds. This performance marked her 15th career game with at least 30 points and her ninth double-double of the season. Perhaps even more impressive is her consistency; Crooks has now scored in double figures in 88 consecutive games, which stands as the longest active streak in NCAA women’s basketball. It is the most prolific scoring streak the Big 12 has seen since Brittney Griner recorded 116 straight games in double digits.

The night was a double celebration for the Cyclones, as teammate Jada Williams also reached a milestone by notching her 1,000th career point. Williams finished with 15 points and nine assists, narrowly missing a double-double of her own, while Sydney Harris contributed 13 points and 12 rebounds.

The victory moved Iowa State to 17-5 on the season and 5-5 in conference play. As the Cyclones prepare to host the University of Central Florida this Saturday, all eyes remain on Crooks, whose 13 makes against the Red Raiders also set a new Iowa State junior record for single-season field goals with 229.
