Lamar Jackson's 4-TD Return Resets Baltimore's Season
After being sidelined for several weeks with a hamstring injury, Baltimore Ravens quarterback Lamar Jackson returned to the field in a big way, leading the Ravens over the Miami Dolphins in a 28-6 victory. The two-time NFL Most Valuable Player completed 18-of-23 pass attempts for 204 yards and threw for four touchdowns. The Ravens improved to 3-5 and are looking to make a late season run. Derrick Henry added 119 rushing yards.
After the game, Jackson, who admitted that he needed to knock some rust off, expressed his joy to be back in the lineup.
“You don’t want to rush, you know, a hamstring injury back and make it worse," shared Jackson during a postgame interview.
Coach John Harbaugh lauded Jackson’s performance in his first game back.
"I'm proud of the way he came out and played," showing support for the quarterback's resilience.
Mark Andrews, the Ravens tight end, noted in a postgame interview that Jackson makes them a team no one wants to play as the playoffs loom.
"That’s a two-time MVP for a reason," Andrews said. "He looked incredible tonight. We’re just going to continue to get better and better and better. With No. 8 leading the charge, we’re a dangerous team."
Dolphins head coach Mike McDaniel spoke about the mistakes his team made throughout the game
“Self-inflicted wounds,” McDaniel said on Amazon Prime Video’s broadcast. “We can’t play against two teams; we have to play against one.”
The Ravens have pulled off two wins in five days, and if they keep this pace, they will be one of the scariest teams in the playoffs, assuming, of course, that they make it.
The Ravens take on the Minnesota Vikings on Sunday, Nov. 9.
