Carmelo Anthony’s Legacy Will Be on Display in New Exhibit in Baltimore
Carmelo Anthony will be honored with his own exhibit in Baltimore.
According to local news station WBFF, the “House of Melo” exhibit is slated to open on Oct. 25 in the Art Deco building and will feature numerous artifacts paying tribute to Anthony’s basketball Hall of Fame career, “philanthropy and impact on popular culture.”.
“The exhibit is meant to inspire visitors to pursue their goals, both business and personal, and dreams by revisiting Anthony’s career.”
In a news release, Anthony expressed his gratitude for the prestigious honor.
“This isn’t just an exhibit—this is my story,” Anthony said. “I want people to feel inspired to dream big and know it’s possible. You can’t tell that story without Baltimore. This city raised me, challenged me, and gave me the drive to grow. Now, I hope my journey can be a blueprint for others chasing theirs.”
Mayor Brandon Scott added that Anthony is the embodiment of the spirit that makes Baltimore “the best city in America.”
“No matter what higher heights he reaches, he always stays grounded in his values and committed to supporting the next generation—especially young people following his footsteps in Baltimore,” Scott said. “We are so proud to celebrate his career and his legacy through this exhibition.”
D. Watkins, co-author of Anthony’s memoir Where Tomorrows Aren't Promised: A Memoir of Survival and Hope, and Khalilah Beavers (Anthony’s stylist and creative director of nearly 20 years) are producing and designing the exhibit.
“Carmelo was very adamant about anchoring the experience at the Pratt, because it’s a free library. No tickets. No reservations required. It’s a space where everyone is welcome and can be comfortable,” Watkins said.
The exhibit and all associated programming will be free to the public.
