Kerry Washington's Opinion on the Oscars Boycott May Surprise You
The conversation of #OscarsSoWhite is yet to die down, with Kerry Washington being the latest A-lister to weigh in on the issue. The Scandal leading lady gave her opinion on the lack of diversity among this year's nominations and even made it clear whether or not she will be attending this year's show.
"I'm really excited that the conversation is happening," she said during a visit to Harvard University. "It needs to happen, and the Oscars are a sympton of a larger issue. We need more voices at the table. We need our art to reflect all of us."
So, with that said, will she be sitting in the audience at the Chris Rock-hosted show? When asked if she will be joining Will and Jada Pinkett-Smith, Spike Lee, Rev. Al Sharpton, and more on the Oscars boycott, she said she isn't on board: "I don't think so, no."
