[Watch] Stephen Curry Pays Homage to a Legend
When the news broke last week that Craig Sager's cancer has returned, the beloved sideline reporter was urged to keep fighting by the superstar NBA likes of Kobe Bryant, LeBron James and Dwyane Wade.
On Tuesday night during a post-game interview with Sager himself, the league's MVP took the time out to call the sideline reporter "an inspiration" as well.
After leading the Golden State Warriors to a home win over the Washington Wizards, Stephen Curry stopped Sager when he asked about resting at this point in the season to say: "Seeing you and doing what you're doing, we got no excuses. You're an inspiration for us to keep doing what we're doing, keep fighting and that's the mentality we have and it's kind of contagious, so thank you."
Touching moment and real as it gets. Why would an NBA player need rest if the cancer-battling Sager is still out there working?
After going into remission twice since originally being diagnosed with acute myeloid leukemia in April 2014, Sager recently received the horrible news that he has as short as three to six months to live by the way of his cancer returning.
"Well, you've got normally three to six months to live. But somebody may only have a week. Somebody may have five years. You could be the first one to five years," Sager told Sports Illustrated about what doctors told him.
Everyone is pulling for you, Mr. Sager. Prayers up!
