UPDATE:  Cee Lo Green was dropped from another festival line-up a day after it was reported that he was cut from the bill of a United States Navy-sponsored concert.

Cee Lo was pegged to headline the 2014 Gretna Heritage Festival on Sunday, Oct. 5, but organizers announced, due to his controversial rape tweets, the “Bright Lights Bigger City” singer is being replaced by Joan Jett and the Blackhearts.

"Our community does not condone these disparaging remarks delivered by Cee Lo Green,” festival organizers said in a press release. "We feel this entertainer does not represent what our festival is about and has achieved over the past 20 years."

This is the most recent blow to the Grammy Award-winning singer’s career since he attempted to define rape on social media.

Cee Lo Green has further proof that artists have to be mindful of what they say on social media. The Grammy Award-winning singer was hit with yet another loss on the heels of making offensive rape comments. This time the former The Voice coach was dropped from a United States Navy-sponsored concert planned for Sept. 20 in Washington, D.C.

"Unfortunately, one of the performers we signed for the JBAB Freedom Live show on 20 September recently posted comments on social media that we consider to be completely inconsistent with Navy core values," Freedom LIVE, the concert host, posted on its official Facebook page. "Regardless of intent or context, the lack of sensitivity towards an issue that is one of the great challenges facing our Navy is unacceptable."

Green triggered a firestorm of controversy on Sunday (August 31) when he offered his definition of rape in an attempt to defend his no contest plea in a sexual assault case. "If someone is passed out they're not even WITH you consciously," he wrote in regards to his ecstasy date rape case, which got him three years probation. "People who have really been raped REMEMBER!!! So if I TRIED but did NOT succeed but the person said I DID then what really happened?"

Although Green apologized for the comments, his career has taken some hits in the aftermath. His TBS series The Good Life was canceled this week after one season, however the network stated it was due to poor ratings.

Freedom LIVE is issuing refunds to concertgoers, but they have also promised a replacement for Green.
