The recently aired MTV Video Music Awards produced a few moments that stood as topics of conversation in the days following the telecast. However, the one that trumped them all had folks talking for the wrong reasons and that moment in question, as you may have guessed, is Madonna's questionable and cringeworthy excuse for an Aretha Franklin "tribute."
After the internet collectively roasted Madge for her selfish success story disguised as an "in memory of..." dedication, Real Housewives of Atlanta star Kandi Burruss chimed in and she didn't hold her tongue one bit.
After the "Material Girl" singer detailed her rise to fame, mentioning the Queen of Soul's name thrice throughout the span of her seven-minute self-tribute, Burruss took to her Instagram Story to share that she was offended by her approach.
"Did Madonna just tell that long a*s f*****g story to say thank you to Aretha Franklin?" she said. "She made that whole thing about her when it should have just been about Aretha Franklin."
Proving the reality starlet and entrepreneur was not alone in her opinion, several viewers took to Twitter to applaud her for vocalizing what they and many others were already thinking:
