Tiffany Haddish And Kevin Hart Reveal The Teachers Who Inspired Them

The ‘Night School’ comedians credit these educators with their success.

Kevin Hart and Tiffany Haddish have been hitting the pavement running while promoting their new film, Night School, together.

Most recently, we caught up with the co-stars and, in the theme of the film, asked them to share which teachers from their childhoods inspired them most.

The Emmy-winning actress/comedian recognized one particular teacher who ensured she had one fundamental skill down before graduating.

"Mrs. Greeve was my favorite teacher because she was the one that made sure I knew how to read before I got out of high school," Haddish shared.

Hart went a bit more in-depth, sharing that his high school basketball coach served a greater purpose in his teenage life than he may have known.

"I'ma go Calvin Jones who was [the] basketball coach and gym teacher," Hart said. "He acted as, like, that father figure in school to a lot of the younger guys. He was just so cool. He was the guy that you could talk to. He would chill with you, try to make sure that you was on your grind and paying attention and staying true to the studies, but still have that relationship that you felt was a cool one."

The comic's response triggered another moment for Haddish who remembered another figure who instilled a mantra in her mind that she's never forgotten.

"Coach Martin, for me, was also like that," Haddish added. "He was my track and field coach... He taught me a life lesson: Always come prepared. He would say to me, 'Haddish, are you ready?' And I'd be like, 'She ready!'"

Night School premieres in theaters, today (September 28), nationwide.
