Missy Elliott, GloRilla, and Samuel L. Jackson Team Up for Adidas Superstar II Campaign
Adidas is leaning all the way into legacy with its latest Superstar II campaign. The brand called on a mix of music’s freshest faces and most respected icons to reintroduce one of its most legendary silhouettes. Missy Elliott, GloRilla, JENNIE, and Teezo Touchdown are front and center, with narration handled by Samuel L. Jackson, who delivers his lines with the kind of weight only he can bring.
The campaign is split into two chapters. The first, titled “Pyramids,” opens with Jackson reflecting on the legacy of ancient Egypt. His voice cuts through visuals as he says, “Big old piles of rock, middle of the desert, they ain’t shiny, they don’t light up, no Wi-Fi, no holograms, and not even a food court. But 4,000 years later, people still fly across the world to see them. Why? Because they were made to last.” The quote sets the tone while drawing a line from historical greatness to cultural relevance, making the case that the Superstar carries that same lasting power.
The second chapter, “Clocks,” brings everything together. Seven faces from music, sports, and street culture move through bold visuals in Superstar IIs and Firebird tracksuits. The campaign leans into its legacy while pushing forward into a new era. “When icons wear icons, culture moves,” Adidas said in a statement. Annie Barrett, VP of marketing at Adidas Originals, added, “From street corners to global stages, it’s been worn by those who don’t wait for permission to lead. This campaign isn’t about looking back—it’s about spotlighting a new generation of Originals who are building what’s next, unapologetically.”
The Superstar II returns in classic black-and-white colorways with upgraded tongue and collar padding. It’s a certified classic that stays in rotation year-round. The attitude stays the same. The sneaker is available now for $100 on Adidas’ website.
