Keke Palmer, NeNe Leakes Get Emotional at Cinderella Finale
All good things must come to an end. After making history as Broadway's first Black Cinderella, Keke Palmer couldn't help but get emotional as the curtain fell for the final time on the show.
Palmer and her co-star, NeNe Leakes, who plays the evil stepmother in the production, were overcome with emotion was they bid farewell to the audience after 136 shows. (Leakes replaced Sherri Shepherd halfway through the run.)
"Today was the official end of my Broadway debut," Palmer wrote on her Facebook page after the final curtain call. "136 shows out of 136 shows, man .. I can honestly say I wasn't sure if I could do it. Being 21, coming from only film and TV, I wasn't sure I was disciplined enough for Broadway. I didn't think I was old enough and I wasn't sure if I was talented 'enough.' So many thoughts run through your mind when you're trying something new, but one thing I always know, is God would'nt give me what I was not ready for."
Congratulations to these groundbreaking ladies!
