Did Angel Reese Take A Shot At Jalen Duren While Repping Her Man?

Her choice of footage of boyfriend Wendell Carter Jr. has fans questioning if there was more to the social media message.

Angel Reese is currently locked in at training camp with the Atlanta Dream, but she still found time to celebrate a major win for her boyfriend, Wendell Carter Jr. After Carter's  Orlando Magic handled the Detroit Pistons 112-101 in Game 1 of their first-round NBA Playoffs series, Reese took to Instagram to make sure everyone saw Carter’s big night.

Carter was nearly perfect from the floor, putting up 17 points, seven rebounds, and five assists while shooting 8-of-9. To mark the occasion, Reese shared a video of Carter hauling in a lob from Paolo Banchero and slamming it home. She kept the energy high in her caption, using the Magic's signature phrase: “GAME 1. PLAY THE SONGGGGG.”

While the post seemed like a standard shoutout, fans on social media were quick to look deeper at the footage Reese chose. The clip features Carter dunking directly over Pistons center and rumored former Reese love interest Jalen Duren. The specific choice of that highlight raised eyebrows across the internet.

The timing and the imagery had fans wondering if the post was a subtle jab at her rumored ex or just a girlfriend hyped about her man’s playoff success. Neither Reese nor Duren has ever confirmed they were an item, but that didn't stop the speculation from jumping off on social media.

Reese is entering her third season in the WNBA and is focused on her new start in Atlanta after a surprise trade earlier this year. Even with the distance, she’s clearly keeping a close eye on the Magic’s postseason run. As Orlando looks to keep the momentum going against Detroit, all eyes will be on whether Reese keeps the same energy on her Story for Game 2.
