Terrell Owens Talks New Sitcom

The football star wants a scripted series based on his life.

Terrell Owens has an idea for a new TV show, and it’s based on the drama in his life. Currently, the football player and reality star is in a legal back and forth with one of the mothers of his kids. She’s claiming that T.O. refuses to pay the court-ordered $5,000 a month in child support.

In an interview with The Daily, Owens said, “It’s loosely based on my life and my career. I have four kids by three different moms. It will showcase my skills as an actor, which is something I want to do after football.” As for the show, which is titled 8 & 1, he’s shopping it to networks. The title is a play on his jersey number of 81, and he said he would “play an NFL star named Terrell O’Neal nearing the end of his career who lives with his mother, his best friend, two baby mamas and four kids.”

On his aspirations for an acting career, T.O. explained, “It’s no different from football—it’s all about hard work. I have a good work ethic. I can put the same effort into acting. Now I watch a movie and I pay attention to camera angles and body language. It’s 3-D.”
