Robert Griffin III Gets Roughed Up in Ugly Preseason Game
After boldly stating that he's the best quarterback in the NFL this wasn't the outing that Robert Griffin III was looking for.
The fourth-year quarterback was sacked three times, fumbled twice and repeatedly hit, before suffering a concussion in the second quarter of what turned out to be a Washington Redskins' 21-17 preseason win over the Detroit Lions on Thursday night.
Now, the Redskins don't even know when RGII will be able to make his next start.
"We'll have to wait and see," Redskins coach Jay Gruden told ESPN. "I would imagine, depending on how long he is out, he is still going to be our starter. We have to wait and go through the whole process and see how he recovers, see how fast he recovers. I have no idea as far as third preseason game, fourth one, right now."

Griffin was hit after nearly every pass play early into the second quarter Thursday night, the last of the blows ending his night and perhaps putting him out of commission for the remainder of the preseason.
Scrambling out of the pocket, Griffin lost the ball and when he tried to fall and recover it, Lions defensive lineman Corey Wootton fell on top of his head, causing the concussion. RGIII laid on the ground for several minutes, before walking off the field under his own power and giving a thumbs-up to the crowd.
