The Stunning Details Behind Noah Lyles And Junelle Bromfield’s Wedding

The world-class Olympians share how they combined American and Jamaican traditions for a celebration focused on Black excellence.

Track and field’s most decorated power couple officially crossed their most important finish line yet. On April 4, Olympic gold medalist Noah Lyles and Jamaican star sprinter Junelle Bromfield wed in a breathtaking ceremony at The Conservatory at Blackberry Ridge in Trenton, Georgia, about two-and-a-half hours north of Atlanta. The nuptials, shared exclusively with Vogue, served as a high-fashion celebration of Black love, intentionality, and the merging of two distinct cultures.

The couple’s journey to the altar began long before they both competed in the 2024 summer games in Paris. While they crossed paths at track meets during their youth, their romantic connection sparked they way many modern relationships do:  in 2018 Bromfield shot Lyles a DM on Instagram. What started as a simple question about Lyles’ cooking skills evolved into a seven-year saga of friendship, growth, and eventually, a committed partnership that led to their engagement.

Lyles, known for his flair for the dramatic on the track, applied that same energy to his proposal. During a summer trip in 2024, he organized a surprise engagement under the guise of a year-end celebration with friends. Despite a minor slip-up where a guest accidentally tipped off the bride-to-be, the moment remained cinematic. In a backyard filled with a giant floral heart and sparklers, Lyles asked Bromfield to be his wife surrounded by their inner circle.

Planning the wedding was a collaborative effort alongside Rebecca Lang of L3 Events. While Bromfield enjoyed a streamlined experience, Lyles leaned into his role as "artistic director," navigating the complexities of wedding budgets and the nuances of combining American and Jamaican traditions. The sprinter noted that the support of skilled vendors and "favors from different companies" made the ambitious vision a reality.

Lyles made sure his fashion matched his wife’s energy. For the ceremony, he wore a deep chocolate suit by Musika, while his groomsmen wore varying shades of brown to reflect the melanin theme. Adding a personal touch, Lyles had the suits lined with each groomsman’s favorite anime character and gifted the party Omega watches. For the reception, Lyles opted for a second look inspired by his previous Met Gala after-party attire.

The ceremony itself was an emotional affair. Despite a "first look" earlier in the day, the gravity of the moment hit the groom hard. Lyles admitted to being moved to tears as Bromfield read her vows, even stepping in to hold her vow book when her hands began to shake. The celebration continued with a performance by gospel legend Tasha Cobbs Leonard and a reception that stayed packed until the early morning hours.

Bromfield, 28, won a Bronze medal in the 4x400 meter relay at the Tokyo 2020 Olympic Games while Lyles, 28, took gold in the men’s 100 meter race in Paris in 2024.
