Is Snoop Dogg going pop?

First, the Doggfather collaborated with Katy Perry on her 2010 smash hit "California Gurls," and now he's eyeing a collaboration with arguably the biggest pop star of them all: Lady Gaga.

The D-O-Double-G didn't have his people call Gaga's people, though. Instead, the lanky lyricist took to Youtube and reached out to Gaga himself.

This is an APB out for Lady Gaga," Snoop said, looking into the camera. "Big Snoop Dogg is looking for you. I'm trying to do a song with you. It's a real nice, freaky-deaky kinda song. Get at me. This is Snoop Dogg; I'm trying to find Lady Gaga."

No word on whether's Snoop trying to get a hold of Gaga in time to add their would-be song to his upcoming album "Doggumentary," which is due in stores March 29.

If "Gurls" is any indication of Snoop and Gaga's potential, their fans could be in for a real treat. Released as the lead to Perry's "Teenage Dream" LP, the single spent six weeks atop the Billboard Hot 100 chart and sold 4,398,212 copies—making it the most downloaded song in the U.S. last year.

Gaga's always been loosely affiliated with hip-hop. In addition to being signed to Akon's Kon Live imprint, she appeared on Wale's "Chillin" single and took Kid Cudi as an opening act on her Monster Ball Tour.
