Kam Chancellor Is Ending His Holdout Thanks to Marshawn Lynch
The Legion of Boom just got its 'Boom' back...and boy, do they need it.
In a text message to ESPN's Stephen A. Smith on Wednesday morning, star safety Kam Chancellor said that he's ending his contract holdout and returning to the Seattle Seahawks (0-2). One of the biggest reasons for his change of heart? Teammate Marshawn Lynch.
"Ima go help my teammates that are understanding of my position and the ones who aren't," Chancellor said in the text message. "God forgives all, why can't i? Time to help us get back to the big dance. I can address business after the season. Me and Marshawn started a mission 2 years ago. I can't let my Dawg down....Real talk."
In trying to renegotiate his contract and holding out during the first two games of the season, Chancellor forfeited game checks of $267,647. The Seahawks could also opt to fine him for skipping training camp.
Without Chancellor, who many regard as the anchor and hardest hitter of the Seahawks' menacing defense, Seattle have fallen to 0-2 to start their 2015 season.
The Seahawks host the Chicago Bears on Sunday.
