Look: 'Why White Women Shouldn’t Date Black Men' Fliers Found at University of Michigan

Here’s what several faculty members said about the disgusting posters.

Discussions about racism and white supremacy have occurred across the University of Michigan campus after several alt-right posters were discovered in two academic buildings.

The first flier found was titled “Why White Women Shouldn’t Date Black Men.” The flier admonished white women about the dangers of dating a Black man. Some of the reasons included:

“[they’re] more likely to abuse you,” “have STDS” and “your kids probably wouldn’t be smart.”

Another poster told “Euro-Americans” to stop “apologizing,” “living in fear” and “denying your heritage.”

Both posters included signatures from the alt-right at the bottom.

The Southern Poverty Law Center defines alt-right as “a set of far-right ideologies, groups and individuals whose core belief is that ‘white identity’ is under attack by multicultural forces using ‘political correctness’ and ‘social justice’ to undermine white people and ‘their’ civilization.”

Once school officials were made aware of the posters, a statement was released by the UM Public Affairs office.

Additionally, several students and faculty members responded to the posters.

No other information regarding the source of the posters has been revealed by university officials.

Faculty members at the College of Literature Science and the Arts will be holding a community event tonight to discuss the recent findings:

"Sept. 27, 6:00 p.m., Angell Hall: Dean Martin and LSA leaders invite students and the U-M community to discuss and respond to yesterday's events.

In light of the racist messages found on campus yesterday, we are hosting an LSA Community Gathering to affirm that all students belong on this campus and to discuss responses to yesterday's events. All students and University community members are invited to attend tonight at 6:00 p.m. in the Angell Hall first-floor lobby located off of the State Street entrance."
