Twitter Reacts to Nick Cannon Chucking the Deuces to 'America's Got Talent' After Racial Joke

The comedian says he was "threatened."

Nick Cannon has announced that he is parting with America's Got Talent and the entire NBC family.

He took to social media this morning to share the news and explained that his motivation to leave was not a positive one.

In a thorough Facebook post, Cannon explained that the network's executives were apparently not pleased with a joke he made during his recent standup comedy special. They were so upset that they reportedly threatened to fire him.

According to TMZ, during the special, the comedian made a joke that NBC was making him lose his "Black card," strongly insinuating that they wanted him to dial back on the "Blackness" while on the comptetion show.

In his lengthy statement, he wrote, "After days of deliberating over some extremely disappointing news that I was being threatened with termination by executives because of a comedy special that was only intended to bring communities closer together, I was to be punished for a joke."
