In this 7-part mini-series based on the family history of Alex Haley, we track the life of Kunta Kinte - a man who's abducted from his village in Africa, sold into slavery, and taken to America.
We see Kunta attempt to escape multiple times and live through historical events such as the Revolutionary and Civil wars, slave revolts and the emancipation. The series presents a highly emotional lesson on the way in which African-Americans came to the United States through the eyes of author Alex Haley and his family history.
