Quinshon Judkins Cleared of Misdemeanor Battery Charges
Cleveland Browns rookie running back Quinshon Judkins will not face charges after being arrested in July on allegations of domestic violence, a spokesperson for the Broward State Attorney's Office has announced.
According to The Athletic, prosecutors decided against pursuing charges after a thorough review of police reports, body-worn camera videos, video surveillance, photos, phone records and the sworn statement of a woman who was allegedly involved in the incident.
"This incident was not captured on any video surveillance. There are no independent witnesses to the incident. Although the victim had photos showing injuries sustained, there were also videos in that same time frame where no injuries were observed to the victim,” the memorandum read. “Additionally, the victim's injuries depicted in the photos could be explained by either account of the incident.”
“Finally, there was a delayed report of the incident. The delay is problematic as the victim was alone on numerous occasions without the Defendant, had the ability and resources to make the report without his knowledge, but chose not to do so,” he memorandum continued. “For the reasons set forth above, there is no reasonable likelihood of conviction and this case is being declined."
In a statement issued through a spokesperson, the NFL briefly addressed the matter.
“We have been following developments in the matter, which remains under review,” the spokesperson said.
Drafted by the Browns in the second round of the 2025 NFL Draft, Judkins played college football for the Ole Miss Rebels where he set school records with 1,567 rushing yards and 16 rushing touchdowns as the SEC Freshman of the Year. After transferring to the Ohio State Buckeyes, he rushed for 1,060 yards on 194 carries, scoring 14 touchdowns. He also added 22 receptions for 161 yards and two touchdowns, winning a national championship in 2024.
Judkins is the only unsigned member of this year's draft class because of his legal issues.
