Mayweather vs. Pacquiao 2 In Talks for Blockbuster Netflix Event

More than a decade after their first record-shattering bout, the two legends are reportedly in serious negotiations for an exhibition fight on a major streaming platform.

A rematch between Floyd Mayweather Jr. and Manny Pacquiao may happen in 2026.

At a news conference on Wednesday, Pacquiao revealed that negotiations have been taking place behind the scenes.

"Right now we have a lot of negotiations about my next fight; there's a possible rematch with Floyd Mayweather," Pacquiao said. "There's a lot of ongoing negotiations right now, so it's hard to plan what fight I'm going to post. I'm waiting for the final negotiation."

The highly anticipated "Fight of the Century" between Mayweather Jr. and Pacquiao occurred on May 2, 2015, ended with Mayweather winning by unanimous decision.

Deploying his signature defensive mastery and counterpunching, Mayweather effectively neutralized Pacquiao's relentless aggression over 12 rounds to maintain his undefeated record (48-0).

Although the bout proved to be lucrative for all involved, many fans found the action disappointing, and Pacquiao later revealed he had fought with an undisclosed shoulder injury, a claim that fuels the current calls for a rematch.

Mike Tyson and Floyd Mayweather Agree to Exhibition Fight

For Mayweather, 2026 looks to be a busy year. The undefeated former champion has signed on to take on Mike Tyson in an exhibition bout. In a news release, Mayweather shared his excitement about what will be one of the biggest spectacles of 2026.

"I've been doing this for 30 years, and there hasn't been a single fighter that can tarnish my legacy," Mayweather said. "You already know that if I am going to do something, it's going to be big and it's going to be legendary. I'm the best in the business of boxing. This exhibition will give the fans what they want."

Mayweather also took to social media with some harsh words for those who described the fight with Tyson as a “money grab.”

“S–t, I’m pretty sure I’d be pretty upset too if I was somebody else,” he said, at the time, sitting on a private jet in front of massive stacks of hundred dollar bills. “I’d be mad at Mayweather too. How the f–k for 29 years, 30 years, you keep getting money like this? I’d be mad too and s–t. I’d be hating on Mayweather too. Continue to hate. People only talk about winners, I’m a winner, so. Continue to talk.”
