Here Are Joe Budden's Thoughts on Usher's Herpes Scandal
It hasn’t been the best month for hip-hop. While R. Kelly has been out here masterminding a secret sex cult, Usher has allegedly been spreading herpes to a number of unsuspecting groupies. During the latest episode of Everyday Struggle, Joe Budden shared his take on the “Let It Burn” singer’s scandal, and although Budden is known to say things for shock value, his comments may surprise you.
After learning that one of Usher’s alleged sex victims is suing him for $10 million, Budden jumped into the discussion. “Oh man… You suing for $10 million? Herpes ain’t even an everyday thing. It goes away sometimes,” the rapper said, laughing uncontrollably. “Oh please, Lysol baby.” Budden may want to brush up on his knowledge of genital herpes because the symptoms can disappear, but the virus will stay inside your body forever, Women’s Health says.
But Budden didn’t stop there. After DJ Akademiks brought light to the fact that most entertainers have remained quiet since Usher’s news broke, Budden revealed that, like most, he wasn’t too surprised. In fact, Usher’s health may have even been floating around the rumor mill for years now. “This is one of them industry rumors that have been there for a long time, but you just ignore. This ain’t really news,” he added. “All these n****s got herpes. Dirty d**k f**ks. You think they just running around sticking their d**ks into everyone and didn’t contract nothing?”
Usher has not broken his silence on the subject, but whether he’s contracted the virus or not, the Everyday Struggle co-host insisted that the “OMG” artist is a stand-up guy. “Every time I’ve met Usher, he’s been really amazing. He’s such a great guy and great person,” he said. “And I look up to him and what he’s done in his tenure and just music… For him to still be relevant, I feel bad to be talking about him.”
Usher’s alleged victims don’t exactly have the same sentiment as Budden, however. At least two women have accused the R&B singer of knowingly infecting them with the virus after having unprotected sex. Usher reportedly paid one of the ladies $1.1 million in 2012 and may be looking at another payout in the near future. But despite his current legal woes, Joe said he “can’t imagine this being a bump in the road” for him.
