This Teen Received an Outpouring of Love After She Was Told Same Sex Couples Aren't Allowed at Prom

A school counselor suggested Paula Goodgame have a boy accompany her instead.

  • The couple also received an overwhelming amount of general support

  • Paula and Anjali were overwhelmed with the love and support their story has received

    "I really love all the love and support we've received since the tweet blew up. It's been really amazing watching the LGBT community stick up for each other," Persad told Buzzfeed. "I hope that all other LGBT students in our situation can find courage to stand up for themselves and for others so we can find equality for all."
