So Sad: Sheryl Underwood Breaks Down While Sharing Tragic Story Of Her Husband’s Suicide

She shared the story in wake of designer Kate Spade’s death.

Fashion designer Kate Spade's suicide has affected several other members of the Hollywood community whom she has never touched, personally, with one of them being The Talk co-host Sheryl Underwood.

The comedian recently explained on the show that the unfortunate incident inspired her to speak openly about her husband's suicide.

"I'm kinda emotional about this because, as you know, my husband killed himself," a teary-eyed Underwood said during the episode. "You will never know. For people who think they know. You'll never know if it's clinical depression. You'll never know if it's financial stress."

The talk show host then switched her attention to Spade's 13-year-old daughter, Frances, who was named in the late fashion mogul's suicide note.

"I'm sad for her daughter, for that to be in the note because my husband left a note," she continued. "And what the note does to the person who is still alive is, it shows that the person who is no longer alive has now had the final word. There's nothing you can do about it now. And that pain... it doesn't go away. I really hope that the family can come together for her daughter because it just doesn't go away."

According to TMZ, Underwood and her husband, whose identity remains anonymous, were married for three years before he took his life in 1990.
