Meghan Markle is among the most beloved members of the Royal family. However, her new title as Duchess of Sussex also came with its fair share of haters, which apparently includes popular television programs.
60 Minutes Australia has garnered widespread international criticism after recently teasing a segment with far-right British commentator Katie Hopkins, who took aim at Markle in a scathing sit-down interview.
The promo, which was released on Wednesday, is a clear character assassination piece on Markle and promises to delve into how her PR practices are causing a "royal crisis." The spot even claims the former Suits star went from "adored to insufferable" in less than a year.
Take a look, below:
The promo, which is captioned, "How Meghan Markle lost her sparkle," has received loads of backlash across social media.
Former actress and activist Mia Farrow blasted the program on Thursday, coming to Markle's defense.
"Shame on you for airing this trash," she tweeted. "Great Britain is fortunate to have this intelligent, compassionate, beautiful woman in the Royal Family. In her, Prince Harry has found happiness and for that we rejoice."
In the short video, former Sun and Daily Mail columnist — and documented racist — Hopkins, who has labeled Markle as a "budget Princess Di" in the past, bitterly belittled her.
"Meghan Markle is the biggest hypocrite there is," she said in the video, describing the Royal as a "no one." "[She's] the biggest bitch in Britain."
Her comments led to an outpouring of disgust over the clear smear campaign and only showed that Markle has more admirers than haters:
