Wait, Did Jeremih Send a Stunt Double to Perform a Gig for Him?

Stunt gang.

We wouldn’t quite call it stage fright, but R&B crooner Jeremih may have caught a case of something after fans are accusing him of pulling a Houdini move at the Revention Center in Houston during a concert.

Concertgoers loaded into the venue ready to jam out to Jeremih’s top-charting hits but were instead hit with an impostor, according to Bossip.

In the video, the alleged stunt double is seen performing the R&B star’s single “Planez.” What made the performance so questionable were the dark shades and hoodie propped on his head as he shuffled back on stage, leading some to believe he was lip syncing the entire song.

An unnamed source allegedly revealed that the stunt double was due to a rift between Jeremih and OVO’s R&B Casanova PartyNextDoor. Jeremih, who is touring beside PND, has allegedly taken offense to being reduced to an opening act for the Canadian rapper and songwriter as opposed to co-headlining with him. The source alleges, however, that the “Come and See Me” rapper rejected that idea because while Jeremih may have mainstream hits, ticket sales might suffer on account of an insufficient fan base.

If there’s any truth to the source’s claims, that might explain why Jeremih stormed off a Chicago stage on Tuesday (Nov. 29) after yelling out, “They some haters, f**k y’all!” Later elaborating on the tumultuous stage exit, Jeremih took to Twitter and said that the expletive wasn’t for the audience but rather the sound team at the concert.

“Chicago, you know I love y’all,” he wrote. “Truth is ‘they’ didn’t want me to perform tonight. It’s sad people will take your money and blatantly make it seem like I only want to do two songs.”

Guess there’s no “i” in team, but there’s definitely one in “impostor.”

You be the judge and check out the video of an alleged Jeremih "impersonator” and his tweets responding to the Chicago mix-up below.
