August Alsina’s been pretty public about his long-standing feud with his mother, and it’s been difficult to see the two beefing for all these years.

Welp, now the two may be on the fast track to reconciliation. At a show singer was performing at House of Blues in Houston, August’s mom, Sheila, surprised her son on-stage and then the waterworks began.

Everyone there, and subsequently those who saw video of it on social media, watched as the New Orleans native dropped to his knees and hugged the woman who gave birth to him. To that point, Alsina hadn’t seen his mother for years.

A lot of what culminated in what was aired out publicly happened in 2015 when August Alsina was a guest on The Breakfast Club. At the time, he was promoting his then forthcoming album This Thing Called Life, and aired out some of the issues he was having with his mom.

That prompted Shelia to hit up Instagram shortly afterward and let everyone know how detached her son was from his family.

We’re glad to see things are changing now and hopefully these two can let bygones be bygones. See the heartwarming video of their reunion below.
