Jay Z Sends Special Birthday Message to Beyoncé During Made In America
In the true spirit of #BeyDay, Beyoncé kicked off her birthday celebrations a day early while attending hubby Jay Z's Made In America festival.
Closing out the two-day music extravaganza, Hov took the stage on Sunday night (Sept. 3) just hours before Bey's 36th birthday. While the rapper made sure to inform fans that the Queen was in fact off duty, he dedicated a portion of his headlining set to his wife. "Shout out to Beyoncé,” the 4:44 musician said to a sea of fans. “Beautiful Bey is in the house tonight. Happy Birthday my love.”
Shortly afterwards, the "Story of O.J." rapper asked the large crowd to serenade Yonce with both the traditional and Stevie Wonder-inspired versions of “Happy Birthday” as she watched from afar. According to reports, Bey was joined by her daughter Blue Ivy who watched and rapped along to Jay's bevy of hits during his hour-long set.
While Jay's sweet message has since gone viral, he isn't the only member of the Carter-Knowles clan to share their love for the Grammy-award-winning singer. Monday morning (Sept. 4) Tina Knowles took to Instagram to send her daughter some birthday love.
“I am proud to be your mom,” she wrote. “Happy Birthday Baby! I love you with my whole heart.”
Michelle Obama, Serena Williams, Gloria Carter, and Hattie Carter also paid tribute to the singer in a series of Formation inspired photos. Check out the sweet #BeyDay posts below.
