Chicago native and gospel singing sensation, Jonathan McReynolds, is proving that his choice to rejoice in name of the Lord is not only his calling but also a way to help others celebrate life.
The 29-year-old made his debut in 2012 with the release of his Life Music album with major reception that includes fans like Nicki Minaj, India.Arie, and the legendary Stevie Wonder.
His latest full-length album Make Room debuted at number one on Billboard Gospel and garnered a historic 1.3 million streams in the first week of 2018.
Tonight, the Grammy-nominated singer will be gracing the stage at the 34th Annual Stellar Awards. Music has always been his passion
Jonathan is not just an amazing guitarist, he is also a trained pianist that began tickling the keys at the very young age of 8.
He has a Bachelor’s degree in Music
He earned his bachelor's at Columbia College in his hometown of Chicago. He also obtained his Masters of Arts in Biblical Studies from Moody Theological Seminary in 2015.
He made room to become an author
In 2018, the gospel artist released his book Make Room: Finding Where Faith Fits to help others find where faith fits in their lives.
He is A Letters Man
In 2018, McReynolds became an honorary member of Alpha Nu Omega, Inc., an international Christian fraternity.
He was raised by a single mother
Jonathan might not have been raised with a father, but in 2014 he shared that he was thankful to have plenty of male figures to admire in his life.
"I had a lot of great male figures that God planted in my life," McReynolds recalled during an interview with CBN News. "I was still able to look up to my pastor and some godfathers and some uncles as that father, together collectively."
