Lil Nas X Had The Perfect Response To Pastor Troy’s Homophobic Comments

Troy criticised Lil Nas’ Grammys outfit in a rant against the LGBTQ community.

Lil Nas X has been riding high since the 2020 Grammy Awards where the country trapateer nabbed two out of the six awards that he was nominated for. However, one lone dissident didn’t celebrate Lil Nas’ wins on Sunday (Jan. 26).

  • Down South Georgia Boys rapper Pastor Troy took to social media on Wednesday (Jan. 29) where he unleashed a virulent rant against Lil Nas and the LGBTQ community. The Atlanta rapper shared his thoughts about Lil Nas’ win in an Instagram post on Wednesday (Jan. 29) wherein he stated there’s a gay agenda being pushed onto the youth. Troy posted a photo of the gender-defying Versace cowboy ensemble that Lil Nas wore to the Grammys to further illustrate his point.

  • “Welp, guess I won’t be winning a GRAMMY...If this what I gotta wear,” Troy began in the post before he launched into a seemingly homophobic rant.
“They love to push this s**t on Our Kids!! The other day @applebees had some punks kissing and laughing eating mozzarella sticks. First Thing My 14 yr old Son said was, “F**** Applebee’s” And It Brought Joy to My Heart!! He sees it…their agenda to take the masculinity from Men, Black Men Especially. Some may say, ‘He Making Money!!’ Rupaul do too, but I ain’t bumping his CD!!! Integrity is Priceless.

He concluded his thoughts warning people “to open that 3rd Eye and let your Sons Know What Is Real…Or They A** Gone Be Headed Down That Old Town Road Foreal!”

  • His commentary did not escape the notice of Lil Nas, who shut down Troy’s hate with the classiest response on Twitter.
“Damn, I look good in that pic on god,” he simply commented. His tweet has garnered over 32,000 retweets and 310,000 likes within hours at the time of this reporting.

  • The exchange has since made its rounds across social media and Pastor Troy soon became a trending topic on Twitter as users on the platform came to Lil Nas’ defense in droves.

“Now ‘Pastor Troy’ you not winning a Grammy has little to do with what you wear and more to do with your music not being captivating for decades,” one user wrote. “His songs won him Grammys not his outfits. Just say you hate gay people and go. Encouraging hateful speech from your son is disgusting.”

“Pastor Troy is irrelevant, miserable, homophobic, & bitter. Nobody with sense is checking for you nor your trash music,” another user chimed in. “There’s no gay agenda. Nobody’s forcing anything on you & your son. You’re just bitter bigot who is mad that a Black gay man achieved more success than you.”
