BeBe Winans Writes Whitney Houston Book, Bobbi Kristina Stays Away from Bobby Brown's Wedding

The Whitney I Knew hits bookstores on July 31.

Whitney Houston may soon need her own section at Barnes & Noble.
Less than a week after it was revealed that Cissy Houston will write a detailed account of Whitney's troubled life, the late singer's close friend BeBe Winans announces plans to release his own book on the subject.
Winans, a gospel singer who sang at Houston's funeral, will call his book The Whitney I Knew. The memoir is due in bookstores on July 31.

The book promises what is described as "heart-breaking accounts that led to her ultimate defeat." It will also include photos of the singer never released to the public.

Winans is also set to release his new album, entitled America, America, next week.
Meanwhile, Houston's daughter Bobbi Kristina, who is starring in a reality show along with several members of her family, put her foot down when it comes to attending her father Bobby Brown's wedding to fiancée Alicia Ethridge, which the New York Post reports was scheduled to take place this weekend.

The couple have been engaged since May 2010 and were meant to be married in Hawaii this weekend, following Brown's New Edition concert.
Rumors of Bobbi Kristina's estrangement from her father, who divorced Houston in 2007, have been rampant since Houston's untimely death this past February. While neither have discussed their relationship publicly since then, it's possible the topic will come up on Bobbi Kristina's Lifetime reality show The Houston Family Chronicles.
