Alicia Keys set the charts ablaze with her fifth studio album, Girl on Fire. In the process the singer topped the Billboard 200 chart with 159,000 sold according to Nielsen SoundScan, making this her fourth No. 1 album, reports Billboard. The only album of the R&B singer’s career not to debut at the top of the chart was her 2009 release, The Element of Freedom, which was beat out by Britian’s Got Talent favorite Susan Boyle’s I Dreamed a Dream.

Keys knocked Rihanna’s Unapologetic from the No. 1 spot (her first to do so), which dropped to No. 6 in its second week. The album was also able to rise above Taylor Swift's Red and Rod Stewart's Merry Christmas, Baby.

Keys has tirelessly been promoting Girl on Fire. She appeared on Billboard magazine’s cover for their November issue and made a surprise appearance on stage at KIIS-FM's Jingle Ball in Los Angeles Monday night. Although Keys’ latest release is sitting at the top, the album did fall a little short of her usual expectations as far as sales. Girl on Fire had the lowest opening sales of the singer’s career. is your #1 source for Black celebrity news, photos, exclusive videos and all the latest in the world of hip hop and R&B music.
