2 Chainz Sold $2 Million Worth of Dabbing Santa Christmas Sweaters

Who knew "Dabbin' Santa" would take it this far.

Ugly Christmas sweater sales are at an all-time high and apparently the same is true when hip hop got involved in creating them as well.

2 Chainz debuted the “Dabbin’ Santa” sweater for the holiday season and apparently, according to Forbes, the highly popular garment has exceeded $2 million in sales.

Behind the scenes, the Atlanta rapper assembled a 70-person team to develop the sweater and accompany its sales fruition. In speaking with the money magazine, the “I’m Different” rapper says he’s not the only one who deserves credit for the idea or its follow through.

“I don’t want people to think this was an overnight success,” he explained. “We’ve been trying with a bunch of designs for a couple years now. This is just timing meets opportunity. There’s the whole dab thing, and Atlanta’s always been somewhere that actually moves the culture a little bit."

“We made close to $2 million in revenue,” he said later in the interview. “I had a numerous amount of celebrities helping with the shirt. It was on the NFL, it was on TNT, it was on Good Morning America, it’s on ESPN. So I could not continue receiving those blessings without giving back at the end of the day.”

We’ve seen the proceeds raised from “dabbing santa” go to good use already. On numerous occasions, 2 Chainz has visited the homes of people in need. In November, he went to the home of a disabled veteran and offered to pay her rent for a year and furnish her home. Earlier this month, he surprised an Atlanta family devastated by a house fire and gave them a minivan.
