Carmelo Anthony Commends Knicks Offseason Moves

All-star forward says he was never upset about team drafting Kristaps Porzingis.

There were plenty of reports about New York Knicks star Carmelo Anthony being irate about the team using the fourth overall pick in the 2015 NBA Draft on Kristaps Porzingis.

But Melo is once again setting the record straight that he likes Porzingis as a draft pick, as well as the other Knicks offseason moves in the free agency market.
"Honestly, I thought we did a great job just as far as putting the pieces that we need to put together," Anthony said Tuesday at the Team USA mini-camp in Las Vegas, as reported by ESPN. "We didn't get DeAndre [Jordan], we didn't get LaMarcus [Aldridge] and Greg Monroe, but [Robin] Lopez is a great addition. Arron Afflalo, I played with him a long time in Denver. [Kyle] O'Quinn is a great pickup; I think guys will like him. He's a big guy, power forward. Derrick Williams, we're going to get him right. He seemed focused. And then rookies, KP [Porzingis], I had him with me last week working out at my gym. We're just trying to start this thing off right."
And about him allegedly being upset about the Knicks selecting Porzingis?

"I never said that s***," Melo added. "Whatever rumors that you guys heard about me or about [Knicks president] Phil [Jackson], about Porzingis, about anybody — it's all false."

Anthony's comments came after he blasted a Knicks fan on Instagram for questioning his dedication to the game. Anthony signed a five-year, $124 million extension last summer before undergoing a season-ending knee surgery in February.

"Staying in NY shows that I do care. If I would have left, what would you have said then? 'Oh, Melos wack for leaving. He turned his back on NY'. FOH. You are stuck with me buddy. Deal with it," Melo wrote to a fan, as part of a question-and-answer session with fans on his Instagram account Tuesday. "If you want me gone, I'll personally walk you into the front office so you can plead your case of the Knicks trading me. Hope you have bail money bc they might have you arrested for Disturbing the Peace.”
