Kanye West, Yeezus - Kanye West has been throwing a very public tantrum all year, and it's the best thing that's happened for his career. He's no longer hiding behind his master ability to create timeless hip hop tracks, instead, he went against all traditional corporate processes with Yeezus — no cover art, radio singles or polite interviews with the media — and exposed that this "frustration" is something only the brave can understand ... and he did it with only 10 tracks.(Photo: Roc-a-Fella Records, GOOD Music, Def Jam, Roc Nation)

Yeezus - Yeezus is designed to look like a blank disc. The concept is so simple, yet no one had thought of it first. Who would've thought of something so clever? Only Team Kanye, of course! (Photo: Def Jam)

The Rundown: Lil Wayne, I Am Not a Human Being II - Everyone's been talking Lil Wayne — but unfortunately not because of his music. The rapper was in critical condition at L.A.'s Cedars-Sinai Medical Center last week after suffering a series of seizures. His new album, I Am Not a Human Being II, a sequel to his 2010 LP of the same name, is coming out just a week and a half later. It's almost impossible not to look at this album through the lens of this incident, though it was recorded well beforehand. On top of his health issues, his recent work, while commercially successful as always, had many claiming his best work was behind him. With a new lease on life, is Lil Wayne's music headed to new planets or is he still stuck in orbit? Read on for our track-by-track review of I Am Not a Human Being II to find out. —Alex Gale (Photo: Young Money Records)

I Am Not a Human Being II - First, Lil' Wayne wasn't the same, he was a martian. But now, Lil' Wayne is absolutely not a martian...or a human being for that matter. Instead, Weezy F Baby has transformed into a butterfly or a moth (we're not too sure). The cover is very reminiscent of the poster art for The Silence of the Lambs. Eerie! Aretha Franklin - Nicki Minaj has a lot of fans, but Aretha Franklin isn't one of them. We hate to see divas fighting, so we're stuffing Aretha's stocking with a copy of Minaj's The Pinkprint. Maybe after a few listens, the Queen of Soul will come around to the First Lady of Rap?

A$AP Rocky, Long.Live.ASAP - ASAP Rocky made a statement for Harlem with his major label debut Long.Love.ASAP. He reinvigorated New York rap with laid-back warning "Goldie," the wanna-be-starting-something "F----n' Problems" and the slaying "Fashion Killa."(Photo: Interscope)

Long.Live.A$AP - Pretty Flacko draped in the American flag may or may not be a hint for everyone to watch Lana Del Rey's "National Anthem" music video, starring him and Lana as JFK and Jackie O. It may be a stretch, but we can pretend. (Photo: RCA Records)

G.O.O.D. Music – Cruel Summer - Cruel Summer's album artwork could have been a Picasso baby itself with its Greek-like sculptured essence. (Photo: G.O.O.D. Music)

Cruel Summer - And what a cruel summer it was! It's hard to go all summer without G.O.O.D. Music. At the very end of the summer of 2012, the album finally dropped and then a few days later autumn stormed in. Maybe they should've called it Cruel Cruel Autumn Breeze or something. (Photo: G.O.O.D. 2 Chainz Back – July 17, 2012 - 2 Chainz unveiled the cover for his debut as a solo artist, Based on a T.R.U. Story. The minimalist design was crafted by Kanye West's creative house, DONDA, and was selected for the #2 spot on Complex magazine's 25 best covers of 2012.(Photo: Def Jam Records)

Based on a T.R.U. Story - This cover is pretty self explanatory. Two chains symbolizes 2 Chainz. Seems clear to me.  (Photo: Def Jam)

Complex Magazine's G.O.O.D. Music August/September 2012 Cover - With all the religious-themed tracks released from G.O.O.D. Music, it's not a surprise that they kept consistent with their designs. The cross formation of the eight label mates is definitely a conversation starter. We're almost shocked that Yeezus didn't take the center position of the cross.(Photo: Complex Magazine, August/September 2012)

Yeezus 'American Psycho' Short Film - Anything featuring Scott Disick and Jonathan Cheban is a certified must-see. The American Psycho-inspired short mirrored every aspect of the original and showed the talent and range of DONDA productions. But it wouldn't be a Kanye production without Yeezus playing in the background. And scene! (Photo: Kanyewest.com/Def Jam)
