Yup, he flat out lied. About the latest release date debacle: we don’t care about the specifics on that one, since we're still being lied to.(Photo: Jason Merritt/Getty Images)

The times Jay Z lied in his lyrics - Remember when Jay rapped about his trip to Cuba in “Open Letter” – “boy from the hood but got White House clearance”? Well, it turns out the White House had nothing to do with properly licensing that infamous trip to Cuba in 2014. It was the Office of Foreign Assets Control. When we were told there had been a wedding - When all sat and watched MTV’s Diary Presents: Brandy - Special Delivery in 2002, we were hooked watching Brandy’s life as a mother unfold in front of our very eyes. During the special we were also told that the singer had wed the father of daughter, Sy’rai, Rob Smith. During a radio interview around the time Brandy released her 2004 album, Afrodisiac, Rob decided to reveal they were never really married at all. Years later, Brandy would tell us herself–and Oprah Winfrey– about the pressure she felt to lie about the whole ordeal. All is forgiven on this one, since societal pressures suck.(Photo: Nicholas Hunt/BET/Getty Images for BET)

When we were lied to about a bid - The Smoking Gun makes an appearance on here one more time and this time they showed up for Akon. When the recording artist first came on the scene, he recounted in many interviews that his time in prison was about four years. That was an outright lie: it was only for a couple of months. Makes that whole "Locked Up" single less poignant, no?(Photo: Ethan Miller/Getty Images)
