Staying Active - The President was sure to get some exercise in during his vacation. On Sunday, he spent about six hours at the golf course before heading to the beach with the family for a picnic. Obama also played some basketball games at the Marine Corps Base Hawaii with some of his Chicago friends, personal assistant Reggie Love, National Security Council Chief of Staff Denis McDonough, Deputy Press Secretary Bill Burton and others. In First Lady News... - First Lady Michelle Obama visits the Department of Health and Human Services on Tuesday to talk about good nutrition for children. The HHS recently announced $493 million in grants for state initiatives that promote good health and prevent disease. On Thursday, Mrs. Obama will travel to Florida to attend the Florida Campus Compact annual Awards Gala and Luncheon.

In First Lady News - Mrs. Obama saw a dip in her favorability ratings in December, according to the most recent Rasmussen poll. The latest numbers show that 55 percent of voters have a least a somewhat favorable view of the First Lady. In November, it was 62 percent. The lowest number she received before December was 58 percent.

Threats - Kristy Lee Roshia, 35, allegedly threatened to “blow away” First Lady Michelle Obama, the Associated Press reports. Roshia, who appeared in court last week, was charged with making threats toward a member of the president’s family and assaulting a federal agent. She was arrested less than a couple of miles from where the Obamas are vacationing in Hawaii. Roshia reportedly has a history of sending violent threats to the Secret Service.
