Face Forward - To cleanse my face, I use the Nettoyant Visage cleanser by Guinot. It’s a foaming facial cleanser that doesn’t leave any residue behind. I naturally have oily skin, so it’s something that’s not very heavy. It washes off very easily. This stuff is good.

Smooth Finish - The exfoliant I’m using right now is Shiseido Men Deep Cleansing Scrub and I got it as a gift. It works really well.

Protect Your Skin - I use Kiehls Ultra Facial Moisturizer. It has SPF 15 in it. Out here in Cali, we supposedly have the harshest environment. Even though it’s beautiful and sunny, the UV rays will do the most damage to your skin. The atmosphere has been depleted by all of the smog and everything.

Silky Skin - I never used to really care about my skin until I started acting, and then I realized that my skin is really part of my package. If my skin is bad, I can’t appeal on film. Skin is very important to an actor because if you get one blemish or one pimple, you have to be committed to that image being recorded, filmed and archived for the rest of your life.

Let It Go - I think for the majority of people, when they lose it, they just decide to rock a baldie. If I lost all of my hair, I probably would too. I think it’s better to just clean it off, than to hold on to it for dear life. They’re just in denial about the fact that it’s gone. At some point in time you’re either going to go gray or go bald.

Hairy Details - I use American Crew Citrus Mint Refreshing Shampoo in my hair and I like it because you can pick it up just about anywhere. It has a lot of botanicals in it. You can smell the fresh mint and feel the tingling sensation. I normally wash my hair every other day, but right now I’m doing a really high-intensity workout, so I’m literally drenched in sweat every day.

Laz's Workout - It all depends on your body weight and your body composition. Two people can weigh 180 and have a completely different body composition. My trainer is Mike G. He’s the expert. The workout that he has me on right now is called a “cutting” workout. “Cutting” trims you down and gives you those nice slices in your body where you actually see the muscle definition. It’s a very high-intensity, cardio-driven workout.

Run, Laz, Run - I run laps and when I stop that, I drop and give him 25 push-ups. I get up and do crunches, followed by these jumping jacks where I explode upward. It’s not a regular jumping jack. I actually squat down into the ground and explode up into the jumping jack. You engage your glutes, thighs and hamstrings.

Boot Camp - It’s called active rest. For an hour straight, you never stop moving. Almost boot camp style.  The whole purpose is to spike your heart rate so that you burn fat, or to keep a consistent heart rate while you work your muscles. That’s usually the quickest way to drop fat. Find your optimal heart rate depending on your age and fit level, and keep it there for an hour straight.

Trust Your Mirror - I try not to weigh myself during a cycle of training because I feel like it will either work against me or discourage me. I let the mirror be my guide. If I look in the mirror and I’m happy with what I’m seeing, then I keep going. If I’m not seeing certain results, then I increase and change certain areas of my workout.

Ditch the Scale - The scale can lie to you. There is a possibility that when you’re doing weights, you’re going to put on muscle. You could be changing your body composition, but your weight stays the same. You don’t wear a scale around your neck. You can’t go out and say, ‘Hey guys, look how much I weigh!’ Instead, people will look at you and say, ‘I can tell that you’ve been working hard in the gym. You look great.’

Good Eats - I’m not a vegetarian. I like turkey bacon, but I like regular bacon too. I believe 'everything in moderation.’ If you don’t eat a lot of anything, then you’ll be fine. If you abuse food, you’re liable to get sick. But I have my desserts. I have my pies and I have my cakes and I enjoy them. I have a very big sweet tooth, which is something that I have to constantly keep in check.

Daily Regimen - On a daily basis, I take my antioxidant vitamins - E, A and C. I also take green tea tablets. Green tea is really, really good for the skin as well. I also take Coenzyme-Q10, which is really good for men.

Manly Maintenance - I remember when I first started acting, somebody told me that I needed to wax my eyebrows. I was like, ‘Nah, I don’t do all that.’ All I do is shave, to be honest with you. If it’s appropriate for a role, I’ll shave my chest. If not, I don’t really grow that much chest hair anyway.

Laz's Top Tip - I do shave other areas during the summertime that might tend to heat up. For me, it’s just a hygiene thing. I feel like there are certain parts of your body that hygienically, through heat, can be kind of offensive if you don’t keep them in check. You gotta remove that hair. Even in the wintertime, but especially in the summertime, it’s a problem. You heat up!
