The Washington, D.C., resident slayed every ounce of her pageant run with a distinct aura of style and grace from being Miss D.C. to becoming Miss USA. Sorority Sisters Unite -  Barber is a member of Sigma Gamma Rho Sorority, Inc. According to the nonprofit sisterhood’s website, its mission is to “enhance the quality of life within the community. Public service, leadership development and education of youth are the hallmarks of the organization’s programs and activities. Unapologetically Fearless -  She didn’t back down when asked by celebrity judge Joe Zee her thoughts on the Pentagon opening combat jobs up to women: “As a woman in the United States Army, I think it was an amazing job by our government to allow women to integrate to every branch of the military,” she said. “We are just as tough as men.
