2 Live! - Luther Campbell was originally a cook at a local hospital in Miami Beac and a concert promoter on the side. Campbell brought in dope rap groups to the local clubs. In 1983, he did a work-study at the WDNA radio station, then quickly moved on to to running his own label, Luke Skyywalker Records. When he met 2 Live Crew, he brought them to Miami to perform and started to realize he liked them. Soon after, Luke was managing the group and acting as their hype man too.
