Grand Opening - Liberian President Ellen Johnson-Sirleaf, Ambassador Linda Thomas-Greenfield and Johnson chat during Kendeja’s opening ceremony. After attending the Clinton Global Initiative (CGI) two years ago, Johnson committed to mobilize $30 million for the West African nation after listening to President Johnson-Sirleaf’s appeal for support from American businesses. Not long after, he decided to build a hotel in Liberia. Before Kendeja, there had not been a new hotel in the nation in 20 years.
