Practice - While you don’t want to look too posed, it’s good to know your angles. Look at old pics of yourself that you like and figure out what they have in common. Were you laughing, or smiling demurely? Facing the camera head on, or in profile? Pick what you like best and make it your go-to move.

Tyra's Go-To Move - Here’s a full-body pose that works for most: Turn your body three-quarters of the way to the camera with one shoulder closer to the camera. Then put one foot in front of the other and look toward the camera, chin slightly down and smile. If you're uncomfortable with your teeth, learn to smile with your mouth closed and "smize" (smile with your eyes). Be Meticulous - Everything is magnified in pictures, so pay attention to detail when it comes to your makeup. Blend your blush well and take time to define your eyes. It can also pay to go a shade darker with your lipstick to highlight your lips.(Photo: Digital Vision/Getty Images)

Watch Your Posture - It’s everything in a full-length shot. Pull back your shoulders, suck in your tummy, and do something—anything—with your arms (a hand on the hip or holding on to your handbag usually works). (Photo: Sara Wight/Getty Images)

Close Your Eyes - Are you always the one person in the group photo blinking during the flash? Close your eyes before the picture and open them just before the photographer snaps. Have her countdown so you know when it’s coming. (Photo: Fuse/Getty Images)

Don’t Say, "Cheese!" - It creates a fake smile. Instead, think of something funny. Or better yet, have the photographer yell something unexpected. Your laughter will make you radiant. (Photo: LuminaStock/Getty Images)

Look Away - Have crazy eyes in your photos? Don’t look right at the camera. Instead, look just above the lens. You’ll still look focused, but you won’t look like a trapped deer.(Photo: REUTERS/Yuriko Nakao /Landov)

Worst: Paparazzi Madness - Paparazzi have never been good with boundries, but they seemed to push them further than ever this year. From Kanye West to Halle Berry, dozens of celebs have fought back against the intrusive shutterbugs, with Berry even successfully lobbying on behalf of legislation that would protect celebrity kids from being photographed or harassed. Smile Right - Once you figure out what smile style works best for you—Toothy grin? Close-mouthed smirk?—keep it from looking forced by lightly pressing your tongue to the back of your teeth. It will force your face to relax and make you look more natural. Also, if you’re posing for the paparazzi (or, you know, six friends with iPhones), don’t hold your smile through them all. Instead, drop it after each shot and switch it up. (Photo: Michael Buckner/Getty Images for LOGO)
