Kobe Bryant Undergoes Knee Surgery - The Los Angeles Lakers announced that Kobe Bryant had arthroscopic surgery last week on his right knee that bothered him most of the season. He’s expected to return in time for training camp, which opens on Sept. 25.

Tracy McGrady To Chicago? - The Chicago Bulls appear to be close to adding free agent Tracy McGrady if he’s willing to accept a role off the bench according to sources. The seven-time all-star was limited to just 30 games last season with Houston and New York because of a chronic knee injury.

Matt Barnes Joins Lakers - After a deal with the Toronto Raptors fell through, Matt Barnes signed a one-year deal with the Los Angeles Lakers. Barnes and Kobe Bryant were involved in a trash-talking session during a game in March, but are reportedly now on good terms.

Pacquiao To Fight On Nov. 13 - Manny Pacquiao will step back in the ring on Nov. 13. Unfortunately, it won’t be against Floyd Mayweather. After the two sides failed to reach a deal, Pacquiao will take on Antonio Margarito instead. The fight location hasn’t been decided yet since Margarito currently doesn’t have a license in Nevada.

Dawson Inducted Into Cooperstown - Former outfielder Andre Dawson was inducted into the Baseball Hall of Fame on Sunday in Cooperstown, N.Y. The eight-time all-star played 21 years in the major leagues and finished with a .279 batting average, 438 home runs, and 1,591 runs batted in.

Dan Haren Traded To Angels - With the MLB trading deadline approaching this weekend, the Los Angeles Angels made a major deal, acquiring front-line starter Dan Haren from the Arizona Diamondbacks for Joe Saunders. Haren is a three-time all-star but has struggled with a 7-8 record and a 4.60 ERA.

Durant Leads Way In Team USA Scrimmage - Kevin Durant had 28 points to lead the White Squad in a 114-96 victory over the Blue Squad at the USA Basketball Showcase in Las Vegas. Nineteen players are competing to play for Team USA in the world championships later this summer.

Dez Bryant Doesn't Like Hazing - Hazing is a part of any sport for rookies, but Dallas Cowboys wide receiver Dez Bryant wants no part of it. Bryant refused to carry the shoulder pads of Roy Williams after practice. "I'm not doing it," Bryant said. "I feel like I was drafted to play football, not carry another player's pads."

A-Rod Stuck On 599 - New York Yankees slugger Alex Rodriguez went 2-for-4 on Sunday but failed to hit his 600th home run in the team’s 12-6 victory over the Kansas City Royals. When Rodriguez hits his next home run, he will be the youngest player in Major League history to reach 600.
