Classic Kerry - I believe as a hairstylist that hair should always say something. It should speak for itself.

Locks of Love - Kerry loves the color of her hair right now, along with the length. It’s straight so you can really see how much it’s grown. She loves the health of her hair most. She’s completely natural and I deep treat her hair at least once a week.

Out With a Bang - This season, folks should try full-on bangs, but not a blunt bang. They should edge it up so it’s really raggedy on the ends. Or you can do an off-center bang so it doesn’t fully cover the forehead. Kerry’s wearing the off-center bang right now because I don’t really like her face to show.

Keep It Cut - “I always make sure to clip Kerry’s ends every 6 – 8 weeks.” -- Takisha Sturdivant

Mane Maintenance: Keeping your ends clipped is very important. If you fail to get a good trim every 6 – 8 weeks, you run the risk of experiencing damaged ends. Even if your hair is growing, you won’t see the results if it’s splitting at the same time.

Sleek & Chic - When we do Kerry’s sleek styles, I use L’Oreal Paris Studio Glass Shine Spray to finish it off. I spray it directly on my hands and then I distribute it throughout her hair. Kerry hates for her hair to be weighed down. She absolutely loves body and movement.

Signature Style - For Kerry’s wavy, tousled look, I shampoo and condition, blow-dry, and flat iron it really light. Then, I wrap Kerry’s tresses around a medium-barrel curling iron in really big sections to give her that look. I also don’t use extremely high heat. If the curling iron goes up to 20, I don’t put it on 20. We don’t like it super-curly, just wavy.

Controlled Chaos - She never wears neat hair; she always likes it messy. I don’t use hairspray, I just use a little of the L’Oreal Paris Elnett Satin Hairspray.

Curly Cues - “When she’s not on the red carpet, she wears it big and curly.” -- Takisha Sturdivant

Mane Maintenance: Give your hair a rest by opting out of heat styles every other week and rocking a finger style, flat twists, spiral sets or two-strand twists. These styles only require very low heat or no heat to dry.

Kerry's Hue - I play around with color every once in a while. I’ll do a lighter tone, but it’s not blonde. It’s a really dark, subtle brown.

Keep It Dark - To keep your dark color vibrant, the key is to use a color conditioner like L’Oreal Vive Pro Color High Gloss Conditioner. Leave it on for 15 – 20 minutes with a heating cap on.

The Perfect Up-Do - Start off with a wide-tooth comb. Take big sections and give it a little curl with an iron. Tease the root a little bit in the center. Then, take the hair up, twist it, and insert some big hairpins. It’s not supposed to be neat. You actually want it to be messy. Whatever falls, just let it fall. Just make sure it doesn’t look crazy, but if it looks good, leave it like that.

Health First - “Always start with healthy hair. Kerry is a health nut. Everything she eats is super healthy. What you put in your body comes out. Take your vitamins. Drink lots of water because it shows.” -- Takisha Sturdivant

Mane Maintenance: Biotin is a great supplement that encourages hair and nail growth.
