Swizz Beatz - Swizzy is an artist, but Basquiat influenced him so much that he teamed up with Reebok for a Basquiat line. Talk about paying homage.(Photo: Marc Andrew Deley/Getty Images)

"Somewhereinamerica" - With its old-timey trombone loop and jazzy piano chords (courtesy of producers Hit-Boy and Mike Dean), chances are "Somewhereinamerica" was originally intended for the Jay-Z-"curated" soundtrack to the newest film adaptation of The Great Gatsby. But don't hold that against it: This song is a standout, thanks to the unexpectedly geeky production, which brings out a gleeful side in Jay. Yes, he's dissing old money gatekeepers and Billboard magazine, but he's also telling Miley Cyrus to twerk. Unfortunately, like some of the other best songs on this album, it's too short, with just one verse. (Photo: Kevin Mazur/WireImage)

Jay-Z\r  - The mogul has been so inspired by Basquiat that he's mentioned him more than once in his music, and Jay-Z also referenced Jean-Michel Basquiat in his "Grammy Family" freestyle in 2006. \r(Photo: Kevin Mazur/WireImage)

Nas\r  - Don't think it's a fad just because Nas has referenced Jean-Michel Basquiat. He's one of the most expressive and thought-provoking rappers of all time, so it's no surprise that he's privy to Basquiat's art and influence.\r(photo: John Ricard / BET)

3. Black & Yellow - Someone should have cued Wiz Khalifa's "Black & Yellow" when Miguel hit the red carpet of the VMAs since he wore an all black outfit highlighted by a yellow cardigan. He completed the look with a bowtie and gave us one of his more tame and conservative outfits.(Photo: Anthony Harvey/PictureGroup)

Miguel - The crooner's most recent series of mixtapes fell under the name Art Dealer Chic, so you shouldn't be shocked that he was inspired by Basquiat in more ways than one. (Photo: Anthony Harvey/PictureGroup)
