On September 11, 2000, one of the greatest music video focused shows debuted, 106 & Park. The original hosts, Free and AJ, set the tone on during primetime evening hours. All age groups rushed home to see who would be taking the number one spot on the countdown as well as take in exclusive celebrity interviews. Free and AJ made a mark that may not yet has been reproduced, but many hosts afterwards came close in following their footsteps.

After Free and AJ departed, 106 & Park looked for its next permanent hosts. As the search continued, The Center host Julissa Bermudez and Rap City host Big Tigger were interim hosts from 2005-2006.

After Rocsi and Terrence J said their farewell in 2012, 106 & Park revamped and had a new set of hosts with Paigion, Shorty Da Prince, and Miss Mykie. They launched a few new segments including "The Mykie Report", "The Battle of the Sexes", "Girl Chat", "Inside the Rapper's Studio", and much more.
