Gerard Richardson, New Jersey - In 1994, Richardson was convicted of murder based on DNA evidence found from a bite mark on the deceased victim. New evidence suddenly emerged on October 28, 2013, and the Innocence Project motioned to overturn Richardson’s conviction. However, NJ regulations prevented the DNA taken from the bite mark to be entered into the state database to locate the actual murderer.
