UConn Star Admits Reading First Book at Age 20 - In a recent Sports Illustrated interview Kemba Walker, who led his University of Connecticut Huskies to a National Championship this year, revealed that he read his first book, Forty Million Dollar Slaves: The Rise, Fall and Redemption of the Black Athlete, last year. “That’s true,” he said. “You can write that. It is the first book I’ve ever read.” Another factoid to raise eyebrows: Walker is due to graduate next month, a year early.
