Beasts of the Southern Wild

Directed by Benh Zeitlin, Beasts of the Southern Wild is a fantasy drama based on Lucy Alibar's stage play Juicy and Delicious. The four-time Oscar nominated film depicts the journey and domestic life of a little girl, Hushpuppy (Quvenzhane Wallis), as a storm approaches her Louisiana bayou community. It marks Wallis' debut role and made her the youngest person (at age nine) to snag a Best Actress nomination at the Academy Awards.
